Corporate citizenship and social engagement at Daiichi Sankyo
Corporate citizenship – donations, charitable projects and more
Supporting those in need is close to our heart. As a company it is our social responsibility to make a difference and support social causes across Europe. We do this through donations, but also in encouraging our employees to actively engage. A special focus for Daiichi Sankyo in Europe lies on charitable engagement after a disastrous event – we are committed to help when a crisis hits. The floodings in Germany, the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine are just some examples of our charitable projects as a part of our corporate citizenship. Across Europe, we also donate to support our local communities. Over the past years, for example, Daiichi Sankyo in Europe has provided consistent support to the charity “Little Hearts”, which cares for orphaned children in Eastern Europe, helped underprivileged children in local communities, and more.
At Daiichi Sankyo we see it as our corporate citizenship to create a positive change in our communities. Whether it's responding to a crisis situation, or supporting local community initiatives, our social responsibility efforts demonstrate our commitment to making a difference and creating a better world for everyone.
Support for patient organizations
As a pharmaceutical company, the well-being of our patients is of utmost importance to us. Patient organizations play an important role in the healthcare system. They can educate the public and provide patients with relevant advice on how to live with the burden of disease. Daiichi Sankyo in Europe respects the neutrality and independence of patient organizations. Therefore, we provide information on the extent and nature of our support.
- Daiichi Sankyo in Europe makes grants and/or donations to qualified recipients that support the needs of patients and patient organizations to educate the public on diseases as well as other charitable causes, programs and activities that ultimately benefit patients.
- All grants and donations to patient groups are made in compliance with the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries (EFPIA)-Code and with applicable laws as well as local codes.
At Daiichi Sankyo in Europe, we understand the crucial role that patient organizations play in the healthcare system, and we recognize our obligation to support their efforts. We see it as part of our social responsibility to provide educational resources, funding, and support to help these organizations improve the lives of patients.
